Building From the Ground Up: June 2026 Infrastructure & Grassroots Strategy
Salutations MDTC Members and Friends,
Welcome to the companion deep-dive for our June 2026 update. As part of our ongoing efforts to modernize the Madison Democratic Town Committee, we are moving our detailed technical reporting and strategic roadmaps out of your email inbox and directly onto our website. This ensures our core infrastructure stays transparent, highly accessible, and cleanly organized in one central place.
The Grassroots Reality: Protecting Democracy at Home
National political narratives and top-down media messaging can often feel incredibly distant from daily life on the shoreline. But if the modern political landscape has taught us anything, it is that we cannot simply rely on national slogans to win elections or preserve our democratic institutions.
Real, lasting change is won through localized, continuous, "always-on" grassroots organizing. True defense of our democracy doesn’t start on a debate stage in Washington—it starts right here in Madison. It happens when we clean up our local operations, invest in modern digital infrastructure, show up to town festivals, and build transparent pipelines for neighbors to serve their community. By modernizing our systems from the ground up, we are ensuring Madison is organized, secure, and ready to lead by example.
Technical & Infrastructure Upgrades
Over the last few months, we have been working tirelessly behind the scenes to clear out legacy non-technical debt and build a professional digital foundation that will serve this committee for years to come.
1. Official Domain Migration
We have officially migrated our underlying digital assets to our new domain: madisonctdems.org. This gives us a cohesive brand identity and ensures all digital files, archives, and communications live under secure, town-committee-owned property.
2. Role-Based Email Infrastructure
To streamline communication and guarantee operational continuity during future leadership transitions, we have launched role-based email addresses. Instead of reaching out to personal accounts, please route all core correspondence to these official channels:
Core Leadership Inboxes:
Chair: chair@madisonctdems.org
Secretary: secretary@madisonctdems.org
Treasurer: treasurer@madisonctdems.org
General "Catch All": mdtc@madisonctdems.org
Committee Working Groups:
The "FAVE" Group: fave@madisonctdems.org (Note: Emails sent to Fundraising@, Advocacy@, Volunteer@, and Events@ will all automatically forward to this collaborative group address!)
3. Airtight Security Standards
At tonight’s June 1st meeting, the committee will formally vote to ratify our 2026 Digital Asset, Operations & Ethics Policy. This essential document establishes strict protocols to protect our data and integrity:
Requiring hybrid meeting voters to keep their cameras enabled to verify quorum and voting credentials.
Routing all operational data off private email accounts and onto a secure, committee-owned Shared Drive.
Instituting a strict 30-day handover rule for institutional records during any leadership transition.
Looking Forward
By professionalizing our tools, we make it easier for volunteers to engage, easier for new leaders to step into their roles, and harder for our data to be compromised.
We look forward to seeing everyone tonight at 7:00 PM at Town Hall (or via Google Meet) to vote on these vital structural upgrades. Thank you for standing with us as we build a stronger, more resilient Madison.
In solidarity,
The MDTC Executive Board
